As part of GP Synergy’s strategic work with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs) in NSW/ACT, GP Synergy is rolling out cultural resource kits that were developed by the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council.
The kits provide properly tailored and effective cultural orientation to health workers and staff at ACCHSs.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Education Unit is working to prepare services and upskill cultural health mentors to tailor and implement the kits at local ACCHSs.
We aim to deliver tailored cultural orientation and training to GP registrars, GP supervisors, Aboriginal health workers and other staff within ACCHSs. A technical committee has been formed and we are piloting the kits with a number of participating sites.
For more information about cultural resource kits please contact the GP Synergy Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Education Unit on 1300 477 963 or aboriginalhealth@gpsynergy.com.au.
