Professional networks play an important role in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander doctors, registrars and other professionals.
- Indigenous General Practice Registrars Network (IGPRN) coordinated by General Practice Registrars Australia, IGPRN provides a forum for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander registrars to provide professional and cultural support to one another.
- Australian Indigenous Doctors’ Association (AIDA) is a not-for-profit professional association contributing to equitable health and life outcomes, and the cultural wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. AIDA’s ultimate goal is to reach population parity of Indigenous doctors, and to inform and support a culturally safe health care system.
- National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker Association (NATSIHWA) supports and represents Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers and practitioners as important specialty streams of health professionals.
